With As Palavras – Cie Claudio Bernardo Dancer and choreographer Claudio Bernardo, founder of the “As Palavras” dance company, is the “soloist” in this spectacle. For him, dance is first and foremost about speaking. There is nothing postulating about his discourse: it is about being open and sensitive to literature, music, theatre and stage design as they compete in creating a composite imaginary world with spectators being invited to draw their own map to navigate it. The marriage between dance and music is inescapable, for dancing is not just about moving: it is more a matter of listening and living the music and the culture that it conveys.
